Teaching Assistant - SEND School - Calne Long term | Full time | Immediate start We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND provision supporting pupils aged 11–16 in the Calne area. This setting offers a structured yet nurturing approach to education, designed to meet the needs of students with a range of additional learning, communication, and emotional needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils throughout the school day both in and out of the classroom, helping them engage with learning, manage emotions, and build independence. You’ll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team where positive relationships, wellbeing, and personalised learning are at the heart of everything. Due to the school’s location, being a driver is preferred (not essential) to ensure reliable access to the site. The Right Person Will: Be calm, patient, and adaptable in their approach Have an understanding of how young people with SEND learn and communicate Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils and staff Support emotional regulation, inclusion, and safeguarding Assist with small-group work, interventions, and practical learning activities Be flexible and responsive to individual needs Previous experience in education or SEND is helpful but not essential - commitment, empathy, and the right attitude are what matter most.
