Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER to support our client's A800 LV and Small Power design team. Stockton is preferred; however, other locations will be considered.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
* 15+ years' experience working in engineering design in the nuclear, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical handling, or water industries.
* Familiarity with working in multi-discipline teams, demonstrating ability to coordinate activities with other disciplines and engineering departments.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly and develop innovative ideas for novel problems.
* Engineering leadership skills, including providing technical direction, coordinating, and reviewing work completed by senior and junior engineers.
* Ability to manage and progress work independently with limited intervention from engineering management.
* Strong communication skills, capable of developing documentation using appropriate technical language to describe processes, ideas, and designs.
* Good presentation and communication skills when engaging with clients.
Essential Task Experience:
* In-depth knowledge of British Standards and regulations applicable to electrical system design.
* Specification of MV/LV Transformers, including validating vendor designs against requirements at vendor design and FAT stages.
* Specification of GI/GNI distribution systems, including validating vendor designs against requirements at vendor design and FAT stages.
* Input to mechanical, process, and machine specifications from an electrical perspective.
* Production of electrical engineering deliverables, including calculations (load schedules, cable sizing), equipment data sheets, reports, and technical bid evaluations.
* Guiding designers in producing electrical drawings such as SLDs, schematics, specifications, models, datasheets, reports, and evaluations.
* Proficiency in power modeling software (Trimble, SKM Power Tools).
* Understanding schedule constraints and information requirements from other disciplines for electrical deliverables.
Complementary Task Experience:
* Good understanding of Human Factors in engineering design.
* Experience with production of or input to 3D engineering models.
