We are currently seeking a motivated and learner-focused professional to join us as a Lecturer in Achieving Together and Activate. This role is ideal for someone who already has experience working as a Lecturer, or for an individual who is looking to enter the Further Education sector and train as a teacher. Joining us on a fixed-term basis, you will play a key role in supporting adult and foundation learners to develop essential skills, confidence and behaviours that prepare them for progression into employment, further study and independent life. You will share your subject knowledge and experience through high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, helping students to reach their full potential in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will be expected to: Achieve outstanding outcomes for students using a range of engaging and inclusive teaching strategies Plan and deliver lessons that meet learners’ starting points and individual needs Provide tailored academic and pastoral support to fully prepare students for assessments and next steps Promote English, maths, digital and employability skills within your teaching Actively contribute to students’ personal development, welfare and wellbeing You must have an appropriate subject-related qualification and hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one with full support from the College. Walsall College takes part in the Targeted Retention Incentive (TRI) scheme, a Department for Education initiative that provides financial incentives of up to £6,000 to eligible further education (FE) teachers working in priority subject areas. Eligible teachers must be within the first five years of their FE teaching career and teach specific courses in areas such as construction, chemistry, computing and digital, early years, engineering and manufacturing, maths, and physics. Payments range from £2,000 to £6,000 depending on teaching hours and the provider’s profile, with higher amounts available for institutions serving greater proportions of disadvantaged learners. This post may be eligible for the Targeted Retention Incentive, subject to meeting the scheme’s eligibility criteria.
