Senior Nurse (SDL) – Weekend Elective Programme | £410/day | Great Yarmouth
We’re supporting James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with a high-volume weekend elective service and are looking for an experienced Senior Nurse (Site/Shift Lead – SDL) to join the team.
Location: Great Yarmouth (Onsite)
Contract: Weekends only (Saturday & Sunday)
Rate: £410/day (Inside IR35)
Accommodation available (£30/night)
The Opportunity
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role within a structured elective programme covering:
* General Surgery
* ENT
* Gynaecology
You will act as the Senior Nurse on shift, overseeing patient flow, safety, and operational delivery across theatre and ward areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate the nursing team across the weekend service
* Oversee patient flow from theatre through to discharge (DSU)
* Support safe, efficient delivery of elective lists
* Act as the escalation point for clinical and operational issues
* Ensure high standards of patient care and experience
What We’re Looking For
* NMC Registered Nurse
* Strong senior experience within DSU / day surgery or surgical wards
* Proven experience in nurse-led discharge and patient flow
* Background in General Surgery, ENT or Gynaecology
* Confident working autonomously and leading teams in fast-paced environments
Shift Pattern
* Saturday: 06:45 – 14:00
* Sunday: 14:00 – 22:00 (must be able to cover late shift)
