Principal Business Analyst London or Swindon Hybrid role (2 days a week on site/ 3 work from home) We’re currently looking for a Principal Business Analyst to work with us in Digital and Integration (D&I) as part of the COO CD&I function. As Principal Business Analyst, you’ll be leading the Business Analysis team and delivery across D&I and will be a member of the Senior Leadership team. You will also manage line reporting for Business Analysis within D&I. You will report into the Programme Director for D&I and work closely with D&I Value Stream Programme Managers, Chief Product Owners and Lead Architects/Engineers. This role is responsible for supporting the CIO, Programme Director, Chief Product Owners and Programme Managers with the shaping and prioritisation of their outcomes and delivery objectives. This role is accountable for the Business Analysis Approach and leadership of the business analysis activities; dealing with content rich problems and bringing the problem space to life and to provide options/guidance to resolve. What you’ll be doing As Principal Business Analyst, you’ll be working closely and collaboratively with senior leaders across D&I but also interacting with other teams across Nationwide. You’ll be using your own initiative in this role and are required to work with a pro-active mindset and an aim to identify, escalate and resolve issues/risks. With relevant experience under your belt, you’ll be using your business analysis and solution design knowledge to identify solutions to achieve the best outcome, influencing business resolutions with confidence and innovation to achieve the best results. The role is accountable for: Working collaboratively with the CIO Leadership team to ensure that the end-to-end solutions within the Change team align to the Society strategy. Representing CIO areas interests through effective influencing and collaboration with key stakeholders across other change teams and supports services in shaping engagements and defining approaches. Making Business Analysis led recommendations to the CIO leadership team and delivery teams. You'll use internal and external knowledge and provide innovative thinking aligned to the Business Enterprise outcomes. Leading the team of Business Analysts within D&I using a range of ‘good practice’ techniques to translate business content into deliverables, defining the requirements and traceability approach, identifying benefits of change and evaluating trade-offs to achieve change team outcomes. Ensuring effective shape and sizing of Business Analysis activities to ensure delivery of outcomes at pace and value. Actively contributing to the continuous improvement and transformation of evolving Business Analysis processes, tools and techniques. Line Management and coaching of our BAs who lead Value Streams in D&I. Leadership of the D&I BA Community to maintain high levels of knowledge, collaboration, development and motivation experienced by our BAs. Accountable for the design and delivery of Business Analysis Assurance across the Business Analysis team, ensuring that the designed and delivered solution is consistent throughout the solution lifecycle and managed through appropriate governance processes. About you We ask that you have: Exceptional leadership, influencing, communication, line management and organisational skill. Proven experience of uplifting capability in Business Analysis teams. Proven experience of functional leadership in a Business Analysis context leading team’s ranging from 15 – 100 FTE, across multiple small or large scale/complex change initiatives and suppliers across multiple sites Sound knowledge and understanding of various project delivery methodologies, structures and working practices. Proven experience in roadmap shaping and development, applying expert analysis skills to shape and hold the change team vision linking into the overall organisational strategy. Excellent insight, analytical and problem-solving skills with extensive experience of defining requirements and determining solution propositions with the ability to analyse and problem-solve to determine solutions. Conceptual thinking capability with the ability to translate strategic outcomes into designs. Excellent knowledge of facilitation, information gathering and organisational change management.
