Join to apply for the 2026 Graduate Programme – Transport & Infrastructure – Intelligent Infrastructure role at WSP.
What you will do
* Support public sector clients in highways and rail with digital projects (operational technology; cyber security); infrastructure design standards; and research to inform public strategy and policy at a local and national level.
* Apply and integrate key principles of human factors, ergonomics and behaviour change to transportation or infrastructure projects and policies.
* Undertake research design, execution and reporting (quantitative and qualitative).
* Undertake user identification and profiling including behavioural insights.
* Undertake Human Factors assessments to inform infrastructure schemes and operational designs.
* Support the Capability Lead with the preparation of client proposals.
Projects and teams
* Human Centered Design: safety and efficiency prioritisation in highways and beyond; includes safety and cyber security, operations, and research.
* Tunnel Systems & Operations: end-to-end tunnel asset capability, design and delivery across road, rail and utilities.
* Systems & Infrastructure: technology and infrastructure solutions for road networks; digital infrastructure, cyber security, systems engineering and connectivity.
* Lighting & Energy Solutions: design and consultancy across lighting and electrical capabilities; professional development opportunities.
What we will be looking for
* Graduated with at least a 2:2 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject for the role.
* Be able to start in April or September 2026.
* Passion for engineering and consulting and a desire for the built environment, infrastructure, places and the economy.
* Enthusiasm for creativity and a drive to solve problems; ability to share new ideas with the team.
* Willingness to work with internal and external stakeholders and adapt to dynamic project environments.
