Undertake the responsibilities associated with being a mentor and preceptor reflecting the beliefs about professional nursing practice and patient care commensurate with the Oxford Model for Exemplary Professional and Nursing and Midwifery Practice.
Demonstrably contribute towards the continuing development of professional nursing practice in the department.
Conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a role model to others at all times commensurate with The Code (NMC ).

Work proactively to ensure every hospital visit meets the needs of the patient and that they are discharged in a timely manner ensuring effective communication with the family and/or relevant agencies as agreed.
Main duties of the job
Demonstrates an ability to work in partnership with parents in the care of their children
Demonstrate an understanding of the specific psychological and social needs of children and young people
Be able to communicate with children and young people according to their age and stage of development
Perform Nursing care with an enhanced level of skill and understanding of that speciality and share that knowledge with others.
Be prepared to support the wider Nursing teams within CHOX to ensure smooth patient pathways and offer leadership to the Nursing team.
