Are you a passionate Science educator who enjoys nurturing curiosity and confidence in young learners? We’re looking for a dedicated Science iGCSE Tutor to support a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 10 student in Corsham.
📍 Location: Corsham
🧪 Subject: Science (iGCSE level – Double Science Award)
🕒 Hours: 6 hours per week
📅 Start Date: As soon as possible
💼 Contract Type: Part-time, flexible schedule
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work one-on-one with a young person who has an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and a deep passion for science. They are an aspiring scientist with a keen interest across all areas of the subject and are genuinely excited to begin this tuition journey.
You’ll play a key role in helping them build confidence, deepen their understanding, and prepare for their iGCSEs in a way that suits their learning style.
As a Science Tutor, you will:
1. Deliver engaging, structured Science lessons tailored to the student’s pace and interests.
2. Create a calm, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
3. Build a strong rapport to encourage curiosity and academic growth.
4. Adapt your teaching approach to suit the student’s individual needs.
About you:
5. Familiarity with the iGCSE curriculum.
6. Experience working with young people, particularly those who benefit from a personalised approach.
7. Patience, creativity, and excellent communication skills.
8. A genuine enthusiasm for science and education.
9. Experience of working with learners with SEN

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
10. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

12. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
13. Provide references upon request
14. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
