Are you a Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI) looking for an exciting role, working alongside the military, which offers numerous benefits and opportunities? If the answer is yes, then we are looking to appoint a professional and patient focused individual with a strong commitment to providing a high quality service to work within our friendly and welcoming teams at the Primary Care Rehabilitation Centre (PCRF) Wittering and PCRF Kendrew Barracks.

The vacant post is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. Part-time applications are welcome; however, due to service delivery requirements, any part-time arrangement must be on a job-share basis to ensure full-time coverage.

Main duties of the job

This is a new position with a dual workplace, the incumbent will be primarily employed at RAF Wittering:

The role will be divided on a 60/40 split:

* 22.5 hours at RAF Wittering (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
* 15 hours at Kendrew Barracks (Thursday and Friday)

Working hours will fall within the PCRF opening times:

* Monday-Thursday: 08:0017:00
* Friday: 08:0015:00

The successful candidate will provide a high standard of exercise based rehabilitation including highly specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area for the population at risk (PAR), meeting Standards for Better Health by using a multidisciplinary approach.

You will provide a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high quality professional service. And provide full support to the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional rehabilitation service for entitled personnel.

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

* Performing appropriate clinical assessments and to design and implement safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients after the Medical Officer/Physiotherapist/Clinical Team Manager/ Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC only) has made a diagnosis.
* Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.
* The Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI) is to keep a record of all specific treatments given and the individual patients progression/regression in respect of such treatments on Defence Medical Information Capability Program (DMICP) in accordance with the Standards of Proficiency to Practice (SPP). The ERI is to report any finding to the Medical Officer or Physiotherapist.
* Developing and maintaining of their own personal service, and professional standards to the highest attainable levels.
* Providing clinical reports to assist in the comprehensive discharge planning for both referring source and ongoing patient care under other health professionals.
