Senior Product Manager
Grade 5 - £40,221 - £48,474 Consultation grade subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Permanent, Full-time, 36.5 hours per week (hybrid working – typically 1-2 days a week in the Council House and be able to attend key meetings across Birmingham in person when required) Do you want to make a difference to over 200,000 children and young people and their families in Birmingham? In the Children and Families Directorate at Birmingham City Council we are looking for a bold and ambitious Senior Product Manager. We’re embarking on a one-of-a-kind improvement journey that will affect families across Birmingham. We’re putting a data driven approach using digital tools at the heart of this improvement journey to make sure we can design and deliver services that allow children and young people in Birmingham to thrive. We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced product manager to coordinate a range of digital applications and stakeholders to ensure the directorate has effective digital systems and trusted and timely data that will enable us to deliver positive outcomes for our Children and Young People.
About the Role
In this role, you will be a business lead for multiple digital products within the Children and Families directorate that support a range of business processes and users. You will use your skills and experience to produce and maintain a digital product vision, strategy, and roadmap that balances user needs and organisational objectives to deliver ongoing value. You will support on digital governance for the directorate, including coordinating a Digital, Data and Technology Board to ensure new and existing digital tools, applications and systems across services are effective, efficient, and aligned to strategic and operational requirements and objectives.
About You
An established professional with a degree level qualification in a relevant subject, you’ll have substantial project and product management experience. Using your experience of user research and agile methodology you will ensure that digital products are user focused and are developed and maintained in an iterative and responsive manner. You will use your knowledge of digital tools and applications to design and advise on effective solutions and maintain a roadmap and pipeline of realistic and effective digital solutions that allow services to deliver positive services and outcomes for Children and Young people in Birmingham You’ll use your communication and engagement skills to successfully engage with a range of users, product owners and IT professionals.
