Overview

We are looking for passionate and motivated individuals to join our Community Resilience team at SECAmb as Community Resuscitation Officers on a fixed term contract (18 months). This role will give you the opportunity to make a real difference by helping save lives, tackling health inequalities, and building stronger, safer communities.


Responsibilities

* Deliver engaging and inclusive BLS and defibrillation training to schools, colleges, community groups, and workplaces.
* Identify and focus on communities at higher risk of poor health outcomes, including those affected by deprivation, language barriers, or social isolation.
* Support the maintenance and optimisation of SECAmb’s PAD network and work with communities to develop new opportunities for access to defibrillators.
* Promote the importance of bystander CPR and the “chain of survival,” helping to build public confidence to act in emergencies.
* Work in partnership with volunteers, community organisations, and national programmes to maximise impact.
* Contribute to audits, research, and reporting on the outcomes of community resuscitation initiatives.

Other than in exceptional circumstances, the starting salary for staff new to the NHS will be the bottom point of the band to which they have been appointed.

The Community Resuscitation Officer is responsible for supporting defined groups (including, but not limited to, geographical communities, charity based groups, schools and other educational environments, youth groups, and faith groups) with developing a community-based focus on basic life support and resuscitation, with the aim of reducing health inequalities and improving survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
