Winner Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a leading multidisciplinary property and design consultancy in their search for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing Building Services team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated engineer to take ownership of diverse projects across the public and private sectors — from concept to completion.
The Role:
Based initially in the Matlock office (with flexible hybrid working post-probation), you'll be responsible for designing, delivering, and signing off on electrical systems across a wide range of building services projects throughout Derbyshire.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of electrical system design from concept through to completion, ensuring all technical specifications are met across both refurbishment and new build developments. You'll be responsible for producing high-quality, innovative, and compliant designs tailored to client and project needs.
* Develop and evaluate detailed tender packages, including specifications, drawings, and cost estimates. Work closely with the commercial and procurement teams to ensure all documentation is accurate, competitive, and aligned with project objectives and industry standards.
* Regularly attend project sites across Derbyshire to oversee the installation of electrical systems. Ensure works are progressing in line with design intent, safety regulations, and programme timelines, while identifying and resolving any technical issues or deviations.
* Act as a key member of the multidisciplinary project team, contributing to coordinated designs and efficient project delivery. Provide technical guidance, share insights, and ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other building services and architectural elements.
* Lead the final inspection and commissioning process, verifying that all electrical installations meet relevant regulations, design specifications, and quality benchmarks. Provide official sign-off and documentation in line with statutory and client requirements.
* Stay informed on the latest updates in UK electrical regulations (e.g., BS 7671), sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM), and industry trends. Apply this knowledge to promote best practices in energy efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility across all projects.
? What You'll Need:
* 5+ years' experience in building services electrical engineering
* HNC or above in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
* Proven experience with multidisciplinary teams and education sector projects
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Dialux
* Strong understanding of UK building regulations
* Excellent communication and project management skills
* Full UK driving licence and own transport – essential for site travel
