Job Description
We are recruiting a social worker for our locality hubs. Our Locality Teams work within four community hubs across the county and are complemented by Family Support Services offering a continuum of services from early help to intensive provision. We also have specialist teams for children with disabilities and young people aged 16+ entitled to leaving care services.
Our MASH (Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub) launched in 2018 and operates under the Social Services & Well‑Being (Wales) Act 2014. In 2023 we introduced the ‘Signs of Safety’ social work model, which forms the basis of all practice. All new staff will receive comprehensive training to develop their practice in line with this model.
Responsibilities
* Protect children, young people and adults at risk, as part of the council’s core duty.
* Work within the locality hubs and Family Support Services to provide early help and intensive support to families with complex needs.
* Collaborate with specialist teams to support children with disabilities and young people in leaving care services.
* Participate in the MASH safeguarding partnership and apply the Signs of Safety model in day‑to‑day practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Valid driving licence.
* Ability to communicate in Welsh.
* Enhanced DBS with Children Barred list check (or equivalent) required for all council employees.
* Previous experience in social work preferred but entry level is also considered.
