We are seeking a highly talented and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join a research team led by Prof Chris Summerfield focussed on studying learning and decision-making in humans and machine learning systems. Reporting to the principal investigator, Professor Christopher Summerfield, the post holder will be a member of the Human Information Processing Lab. They will be responsible for carrying out rigorous and impactful research into the computational mechanisms of human learning using deep neural network models, and disseminating the findings within the research group, across the wider academic community, and to the general public via talks and publications. The post holder will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including students. The post is full-time and funded by the Wellcome Trust for 12 months. The successful candidate will hold a PhD/DPhil in a relevant field together with post-qualification research experience and a strong publication record, and familiarity with the existing literature and research in the field. Possess sufficient specialist knowledge to develop research projects and methodologies and the ability to independently plan and manage a research project, including a research budget. A track record of collecting human data, especially eye tracking data would be an advantage.
