We're looking for an enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated Pharmacy Technician who is eager to specialise in clinical trials and become part of our well‑established, forward‑thinking team. You'll join a dynamic group of pharmacists and technicians who support the delivery of more than 100 active clinical trials. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist expertise while playing a key role in studies that span academic, National Clinical Research Network‑adopted, commercial, and non‑commercial research.
What you’ll be doing
* Supporting the pharmaceutical aspects of a wide range of clinical trials
* Providing high‑quality technical support to the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team
* Managing day‑to‑day tasks involved in the safe and effective provision of clinical trial services across the Trust
Responsibilities
* To work as a Senior Pharmacy Technician within the Clinical Trials Team & multidisciplinary team providing technical support to the pharmacy clinical trials team at the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
* Organise and participate in the dispensing and accuracy checking of clinical trial prescriptions.
* To be a member of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team and Research and Development Team.
* To support service improvements to the pharmacy clinical trials service.
* Line management duties of the Specialist Assistant Technical Officers within the Pharmacy clinical trials team.

Qualifications
* BTEC & NVQ Level 3 Pharmaceutical Science Certificate
* Accredited Checking Technician qualification
* Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* A proactive, organised individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for research
* This role requires flexibility, including working across both the Women’s and Children’s Hospitals, as well as participation in late‑night, weekend, and bank‑holiday rotas.
