Chartered Senior Structural Engineer (or above) - Energy & Industrial Sector\n Location: Manchester, Leeds, London, Chester\n Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 DOE + benefits\n Hybrid Working\n\nI'm working with one of the UK's most respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancies, known for delivering complex energy and infrastructure projects across the UK and globally. They've got a particularly impressive track record in the energy and industrial sectors-think power stations, substations, heavy industry, manufacturing and production buildings. Now, due to continued project wins and an ever-growing pipeline, they're looking to appoint an experienced Civil or Chartered Senior Structural Engineer at either Senior, Principal or Associate level.\n\nYou'll be joining a brilliant engineering team that sits within a larger global business, but still operates in a close-knit, collaborative way.
This means you'll get the best of both worlds-backing from a major brand, but the feel and flexibility of a smaller team.\n\nThe focus here is on delivering the structural elements of energy and industrial sector projects-structural steelwork, foundations, building frames and associated civils. You'll be leading on projects across all RIBA stages, often beginning at FEED/FEL and seeing through to delivery and construction.\n\nWhat you'll be doing:\n\nLeading the structural engineering design for buildings and infrastructure in the energy/industrial sectors.\nTaking projects through concept, detailed design and delivery phases.\nLiaising closely with clients, architects, and other disciplines like MEPand process engineers.\nManaging project resourcing, timescales, and outputs.\nProviding mentorship and support to junior engineers.\nContributing to fee proposals, tendering and broader business development.\n\nWhat they're looking for:\n\nA chartered Civil or Structural Engineer (CEng MICE or MIStructE preferred).\nMinimum of 7 years' experience for Senior/Principal level; 10+ years for Associate.\nIdeally with a background in energy, utilities, or industrial buildings-substations, power plants, or manufacturing environments are all highly relevant\nProficiency in structural design software-Tekla, ETABS, Robot, TSD or similar.\nGood working knowledge of UK design codes and Eurocodes.\nStrong communication skills and the confidence to lead project meetings and client conversations.\nSomeone who can contribute technically but also understands commercial and programme delivery.\n\nWhat's on offer for a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer:\n\nA competitive salary in the region of £50,000 - £70,000, depending on experience.\nA clear pathway for progression, tailored to where you are now and where you want to be.\n25+ days holiday, pension scheme, bonus structure and comprehensive benefits package.\nFlexible/hybrid working (most of the team are in 2-3 days per week).\nThe chance to lead impactful projects that contribute to the UK's energy transition.\nThis is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys technically challenging work, values a collaborative environment, and is keen to develop further with a supportive and ambitious employer.\n\nIf you're interested and want to hear more, drop me a line.
