If you thrive on fault-finding, keeping heavy plant running, and making a real impact on production performance, this is the role for you.Hours: 48 hours weekShift Pattern: 06:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday plus overtime (some nights and weekend work)This role is easily commutable from Leeds, Rothwell, Oulton, Garforth, Wetherby, Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract, Bradford, Dewsbury, Halifax and surrounding areas.What you'll be doingLeading planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to minimise downtimeDiagnosing faults across conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, crushers & screening equipmentCarrying out breakdown repairs quickly and safely to keep production on trackSupporting continuous improvement and root cause analysisUndertaking welding and fabrication work to a strong standardOwning small projects and improving plant reliabilityWorking with contractors and suppliers on-siteUsing CMMS systems to record maintenance activityChampioning Health & Safety and safe working practices at all timesWhat we're looking forExperience within heavy industry, Plant or manufacturing environmentsStrong skills in fault finding and mechanical repairsConfidence working on bearings, drives and rotating equipmentWelding & fabrication capabilityComfortable using maintenance systems and basic IT toolsA proactive mindset with a strong focus on safety and performanceRecognised Mechanical Apprenticeship (preferred)ONC/HNC (advantageous)Why this role stands outWork on critical plant machinery where your skills directly impact productionJoin a close-knit engineering team with real autonomyGain exposure to a wide range of heavy industrial equipmentOpportunities for overtime and ongoing developmentWhy TarmacAt Tarmac, who you are matters.
