About You No previous Lifeguarding experience required, this role is open to anybody who has the desire to be a lifeguard and can meet the minimum requirements in a swim test. To pass the swim test you must be able to perform the following: Jump/dive into deep water Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds (this is usually 2 lengths of the pool) Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water (this is usually 8 lengths of the pool) Tread water for 30 seconds Surface dive to the floor of the pool (this is usually no deeper than 2.0m) Climb out unaided without ladder/steps and where the pool design permits The next NPLQ course will take place at Basingstoke Aquadrome from 28th July to 1st August (approx. 9am to 5pm), so please make sure you can commit to these dates before applying.
