CAD Designer – Fuel Systems (SolidWorks)

Salary: £30 000 - £35 000 plus benefits package
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented CAD Designer to join a well-established company who specialises in the design and manufacture fuel pumps and complete systems for the motorsports. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges and producing high‑quality 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
You’ll work closely with project leads to develop components and assemblies that meet performance, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Create detailed 3D models and assemblies of fuel system components using SolidWorks
· Produce accurate technical drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation
· Support design reviews, tolerance analysis, and engineering changes
· Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine concepts and improve designs
· Ensure all designs meet relevant industry standards and safety requirements
· Assist with prototype development and testing support when required
What We’re Looking For
· Proven experience as a CAD Designer or Mechanical Designer
· Good knowledge of SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, drawings) or similar design software
· Preferred experience working with fuel systems (automotive, aerospace, marine, industrial, or similar)
· Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles
· Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements
· Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
Desirable Skills
· Experience with FEA or CFD tools
· Knowledge of pressure vessels, pumps, valves, or fluid‑handling components
· Familiarity with ISO/ASME drawing standards
· Background in motorsport, aerospace, or high‑performance engineering
