Hays Procurement is working with a leading specialist manufacturing organisation based in Telford. Due to growth, they are now looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join the team in a newly created role. The role will be based at their offices in Telford. It is a permanent full-time position offering an earlier finish on Fridays.
Your new role
The Senior Buyer will join an established team to manage the strategic sourcing of materials and drive cost optimisation. Key responsibilities include:
* Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies.
* Strategic sourcing and supplier review.
* Supplier negotiation to maximise cost savings and achieve favourable terms.
* Build collaborative relationships with suppliers and proactively manage performance.
* Benchmarking and spend data analysis.
* Risk management - identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans.
* Assess, develop, and implement procurement processes and initiatives.
* Optimize inventory levels.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a Senior Buyer with experience in manufacturing, automotive, engineering, or similar sectors. You should demonstrate experience in strategic sourcing, negotiation, cost management and optimisation, inventory management, and supplier management. You will be personable and approachable with strong analytical and influencing skills. Ideally, you will be CIPS qualified or studying towards it.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of £50,000 to £55,000, plus 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), a matched contribution pension scheme, and free parking on-site.
