Job Title - Well Home Advisor
Salary - £39,027 – £44,463 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
Grade - E
Contract Type - 12 months Fixed Term
Working Hours - 37 hours per week
Job Responsibilities General Duties
1. Work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets.
2. Comply with data protection legislation and the Council’s Information Security Policy.
3. Work flexibly in terms of hours and location, including remote and home working, subject to service needs.
4. Participate in performance development, appraisals, one-to-ones and mandatory training.
5. Promote and comply with the Council’s Diversity, Equality and Equal Opportunities policies.
6. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and safe working practices.
7. Demonstrate awareness of Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
8. Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the grade and nature of the role.
Resident Support and Coaching
9. Conduct interviews and develop 1:1 support plans to promote skills, behaviour change and progression towards employment.
10. Provide life and employment coaching.
11. Support guests to maintain tenancies and access welfare benefits, health referrals, training and employment.
12. Encourage community integration through volunteering and social activities.
13. Facilitate attendance at interviews or training, including travel and clothing allowance applications.
14. Recognise and encourage positive progress.
Refugee and Resettlement Support
15. Support Afghan families and individuals under the Afghan Relocation Programmes with benefits, ESOL, education, grants, training and employment.
16. Support Ukrainian guests and sponsors under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme with resettlement, housing, benefits, ESOL, education and employment advice.
Housing, Health and Enforcement
17. Conduct home visits and housing condition assessments for private rented and owner-occupier properties.
18. Investigate housing complaints in the private rented sector.
19. Identify imminent health and safety risks and refer cases for statutory housing enforcement where required.
20. Provide advice to improve housing conditions, health and wellbeing and make referrals to relevant agencies, including NHS services, social care and partner teams.
Partnership, Promotion and Administration
21. Promote Well Homes, Private Housing Services and the wider team.
22. Maintain accurate manual and electronic records.
23. Manage caseloads to meet performance targets and complete required administration.
24. Produce monthly activity and evaluation reports.
25. Liaise with external agencies and represent the Council at relevant meetings.
26. Develop effective working relationships and referral pathways with partners and voluntary organisations.
27. Undertake promotional activities with key stakeholders and community groups.
Essential Requirements
28. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
