About the role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same. Your role involves providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and maintaining the store’s appearance.
You will focus on improving service through on-the-job coaching and feedback, ensuring the store remains a safe place to work and shop.
You will be Responsible For:
* Serving customers with passion and pride, providing natural service.
* Encouraging customer feedback via the ‘have your say’ survey.
* Working across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines.
* Practicing safety procedures learned during training.
* Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Understanding store performance and your role in delivering profit.
* Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
* Clocking in and out accurately for correct payment.
* Following security procedures and wearing safety equipment.
* Following the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
* Responding promptly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts.
* Keeping the store clean, tidy, and organized.
* Potentially running the shift in the absence of managers.
* Following all training to ensure safety and legality.
* For stores with a Post Office Local, duties include managing the post office operations and passing background checks; failure to do so will result in withdrawal of the job offer.
