Senior Software Engineer / Developer (Data) – London / WFH to £115k
Global-leading FinTech seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own a new team focused on data-driven strategic enhancements to the core platform. The organisation specialises in cross-asset securities and derivatives post-trade processing technology, delivering secure, scalable solutions for peak operational efficiency and business performance.
This role offers the opportunity to accelerate your career alongside established business and technology leaders and deepen your finance experience. You will work on strategic initiatives to develop integration and data migration strategies and tools to enable highly automated migration or integration between the PTP (Post Trade Processing) platform and legacy internal and external systems. You will be working on Greenfield systems with significant autonomy across the full development lifecycle and potential to grow the team and move into a leadership role if desired.
Location / Hybrid: You will join colleagues in the London office three days a week with flexibility to work from home the other two days.
Responsibilities
* Lead data-centric software development with a strong focus on modern software engineering best practices.
* Develop and implement integration and data migration solutions between the PTP platform and legacy systems.
* Contribute to Greenfield initiatives across the full development lifecycle, influencing key technical decisions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders effectively.
* Mentor and potentially grow the team, taking ownership with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
* Senior Software Engineer with a data-centric approach and strong practices in software development.
* Experience with C#, C++, or Python.
* Advanced SQL knowledge (Oracle) and experience with data transformation tools (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) and data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
* Good understanding of financial markets and the trade lifecycle.
* Able to take ownership, work proactively, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
* Degree in a STEM discipline.
