Support Worker - Community
For us, being a support worker is aiding someone to live a fulfilled and happy life however independently as they can. The role:
In our community service we are recruiting for a full time driver to work across partly an assisted living property in Christchurch whereby you would be supporting two male residents in their late 30's - 40's with tasks such as taking them to the farm day centre to work, help purchase a weekly food shop, take to appointments, gardening.
We also have an independent living property in Southbourne whereby seven residents hold their own tenancies on their home and we provide support such as helping apply for jobs, taking residents social activities and help integrate within their local community.
Pay:
£11.10 per hour, increasing to £11.50 after you have sucessfully completed your probation.
A support workers day would include:
1. Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
2. Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
3. Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
4. Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
Drivers with access to their own car for work is essential. We are unable to accommodate anyone who does not drive.
We deliver a 24/7 service and have various full and part time hours available to suit your needs. To support Sonny's package the hours would ideally be within 8am - 4pm or 4pm - 10pm and you could work one sleep in a week between Monday – Sunday.
