Consultant Otolaryngologist – Head & Neck Surgery
We are pleased to welcome applications for the post of Consultant Otolaryngologist with a head & neck subspecialty interest in Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The successful applicant will join the largest collaborative team of ENT consultants in the UK, based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, and will be part of a 1 in 8 on‑call rota.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver elective, emergency and outpatient ENT services across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
* Participate in the head & neck and thyroid surgery team.
* Provide outpatient and/or procedural sessions and management activity, with up to two EPAs available.
* Engage in teaching, research and quality improvement activities, including a Core Supporting Professional Activity and potential leadership/quality improvement roles.
Qualifications & Experience
* Sub‑specialty interest in Head & Neck Surgery.
* Fellowship experience in the field.
* Willingness to develop and participate in research and teaching opportunities.
* Minimum one Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) including CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, re‑validation, job planning and management meetings.
Working Hours and Support
The post is a full‑time position on a 10 PA basis but applicants seeking less than full time will also be considered. Additional non‑DCC support (up to 2 PAs in total) can be negotiated based on professional activities and service needs.
