Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Support Worker at Atlas Children's Homes, based in Banham, Norfolk.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will help lead the daily operations of the home, supporting a team that provides safe, consistent, and therapeutic care to young people. You'll play a key role in shift leadership, team support, and creating a nurturing environment that enables children to feel safe, seen, and heard.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Support the daily running of the home as a shift leader, including sleep-in shifts
* Take responsibility for health and safety checks, ensuring the environment is safe, clean, and welcoming
* Supervise and support team members, offering guidance and feedback through structured supervisions
* Participate in the on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support as needed
* Oversee and manage petty cash, logging transactions clearly and accurately
* Contribute to rota planning to ensure consistent staffing and meet the needs of the home
* Act as a Key Worker to one or more children, developing individualised care plans and building meaningful relationships
You’ll need strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to lead by example on shift. This is an ideal role for someone ready to take the next step in their career within a values-led, child-centred organisation.
Qualifications
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of experience working in a residential childcare setting.
• Experience leading shifts or supporting junior team members
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and therapeutic practice.
• A calm, nurturing approach and ability to remain reflective under pressure.
• Confidence in managing responsibilities such as H&S, finance, and team supervision.
• A Full UK Driving Licence.
