About Vulcain Engineering

Vulcain Engineering is a global engineering consultancy supporting major energy and infrastructure programmes across the United Kingdom and internationally. We work in partnership with our clients, embedding our people into project teams to deliver safe, compliant, and high‑quality engineering outcomes.

As part of our continued growth within the offshore wind sector, Vulcain Engineering is supporting critical onshore preparation and logistics activities that underpin successful offshore installation campaigns.

The Position: Onshore Environment, Health & Safety Advisor (EHS) – Wind Energy

Vulcain Engineering is recruiting Onshore Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisors to support offshore wind projects from an onshore logistics and pre‑assembly hub in Scotland.

This role focuses on providing hands‑on EHS support, assurance, and guidance across wind turbine pre‑assembly, logistics, and preparation activities. The EHS Advisor will work closely with engineers, supervisors, and technicians to ensure safe systems of work are followed and that safety remains embedded in daily operations.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Onshore EHS Advisor will include:

* Providing onshore environment, health, and safety support across wind turbine pre‑assembly and logistics activities
* Monitoring compliance with site safety procedures, project requirements, and regulatory standards
* Carrying out safety inspections, site observations, and audits to identify hazards and manage risk
* Supporting incident reporting, investigations, and follow‑up actions
* Reviewing and contributing to risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation
* Promoting a strong safety culture through engagement with site teams and contractors
* Acting as a key point of contact for day‑to‑day EHS matters within the logistics hub
* Supporting continuous improvement of safety practices across onshore operations

This role offers an opportunity to support offshore wind projects at a critical onshore stage, ensuring high safety standards are maintained before offshore installation activities begin. Vulcain Engineering provides long‑term project opportunities, structured rotations, and support for those working in remote locations.

Preferred Profile:

Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:

* Proven experience in an environment, health, and safety role within offshore wind, renewable energy, or similar.
* Experience working with wind turbine original equipment manufacturers or major offshore wind developers is advantageous.
* Practical experience working with wind turbines, turbine components, or wind energy logistics operations
* Strong knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessments, and permit‑to‑work processes
* Experience working alongside engineering and technician teams in operational environments
* A proactive, practical approach to engaging teams and promoting safe working practices
* Ability to work a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
* Relevant health and safety qualifications appropriate to industrial or renewable energy environments
* Right to work in the United Kingdom

Whats in it for you?

* Competitive salary based on experience
* Accommodation and travel support for remote onshore locations
* Long‑term opportunities across offshore wind projects and the broader Vulcain energy project portfolio
* A collaborative, inclusive, and safety‑focused working environment
