AMATA (the Academy of Music and Theatre Arts) within Falmouth University’s Faculty of Screen, Technology, and Performance seeks Lecturers in Music to join our Music team. Music at Falmouth comprises BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology, BA (Hons) Music, BA (Hons) Music Business, BA (Hons) Popular Music, BA (Hons) Sound Design. Our courses empower artists, entrepreneurs, and music and sound professionals who will shape the future of music and the creative industries. We integrate creative practice with theoretical inquiry to provide a holistic education grounded in the latest developments across music and sound studies.
AMATA staff and students work in a purpose-built performance and studio complex that operates as a professional venue, a research hub and production facility, attracting world-class artists and industry professionals.
Responsibilities
* Teach across our Music courses, supervise student projects and dissertations, contribute to assessment and marking, and engage with industry and community to enrich the student experience.
* Contribute to interdisciplinary research centres and engage with research areas related to music and sound education.
* Collaborate with colleagues within AMATA and across the university to advance teaching and learning.
Role details
* There are two roles available: Role 1 – Permanent, part time 17.5 hours per week; Role 2 – Permanent, full time, 35 hours per week.

Qualifications
* Postgraduate degree in a relevant field and experience teaching at undergraduate level (ideally postgraduate level).
* Strong research profile and the ability to bridge theory and practice to inspire students.
