About the Role
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work full-time across a range of primary, secondary, and specialist provisions in Maidstone and the surrounding areas.
These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to thrive both academically and socially within inclusive educational settings.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting children with:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
Speech & Language difficulties
Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Support the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working as a SEN / SEND Teaching Assistant
A strong understanding of additional needs and inclusive practice
Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
A patient, resilient and proactive approach
A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, safeguarding training) are desirable but not essential with strong experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
