Rigid Cabinet Builder Location: Denton, Parkway M34 3SG Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time – 40 Hours a Week / Monday to Friday (06:00 – 14:30) General description: T o assemble Rigid kitchen cabinets to a high standard, including the fitting of internal wirework and the preparation of parts using the Vitap drilling machine. The role ensures accurate construction and secure packaging of finished goods in line with the Rigid enhanced product offer. Key Responsibilities: Cabinet Assembly: Assemble a variety of Rigid cabinets including tall housings, appliance housings, and fridge/freezer units following the Parkway Cab Building Guide. Fit wirework during the build stage (e.g., pull-out systems, drawers within tall housings) based on unit specification. Follow correct unit configurations (e.g., TOVEN A–H, 50/50 or 70/30 fridge/freezer housings) using approved reference sheets. Ensure precision when aligning and joining panels, using all tools safely (rubber mallet, electric screwdriver, drill, tape measure, spirit level, marker pen). Request support for lifting or moving tall units and maintain safe handling procedures at all times. Pilot Hole Drilling (Vitap Machine): Prepare gables, base panels, tops, and frontals using the Vitap drilling machine where pilot holes are required. Select the correct drilling program per part via the WSCM software and load components correctly based on orientation guidelines. Clamp, drill, and release panels safely; ensure panels are supported and debris is cleared after drilling. Perform hinge hole drilling manually using accurate measurement techniques where specified. Packaging: Wrap standard-height units in corrugated wrap and place on pallets. For tall/extra tall units: Fit 4x corner protectors Add top and bottom caps Individually shrink wrap before palletisation Pallet Consolidation: Use correct pallet type (Euro or 3m) based on cabinet size. Standard units to be stood upright and consolidated for stability Tall units to be laid flat with fronts facing upwards; consolidate accessories (plinths, cornice, panels) onto the same pallet where possible. Ensure all pallets are wrapped and, where required, strapped with top boards for secure transit. Key Skills & Attributes Good attention to detail and accuracy Experience using power tools and reading assembly instructions Physically fit and able to lift heavy items with assistance Team player with a strong work ethic Comfortable using on-screen interfaces (e.g., Vitap machine software) Expectations & Standards: Follow all work instructions, safety procedures, and company policies Maintain a clean and organised workstation Meet daily build targets and quality checks Raise any quality or stock issues promptly to the team leader Be flexible and willing to support other areas when needed Qualification Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in manufacturing, woodworking, or machine operation preferred. Health and safety awareness (IOSH or equivalent) desirable.
