Primary Care Pharmacy Technician

18 month Fixed Term or Secondment Position
We have an exciting fixed term opportunity for enthusiastic, GPhC registered pharmacy technicians to join the growing primary care pharmacotherapy team within Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP) and support prescribing efficiencies work in the city to ensure the best use of public funds in prescribing of medicines.
The post‑holder of this dual role will work alongside pharmacy colleagues to support delivery of the pharmacotherapy service outlined in the 2018 GMS Contract for Scotland. The role will include activities such as medication compliance reviews, dealing with pharmaceutical queries (e.g. shortages), medicine reconciliation and medication management advice for patients and carers.
You will also work on various aspects of medicines management to ensure safe and effective use of medicines in line with local and national guidelines, including formulary adherence and review of prescribing data.
You may have a primary care, community or hospital pharmacy background, but you must be registered with the GPhC. Good communication, interpersonal and time‑management skills are essential. Full driving licence and use of a car is essential.
Part time hours would be a minimum of 3 days (22.2 hours) per week currently (this would reduce to 21.6 hours per week from 1st April 2026).
Responsibilities

Qualifications and Requirements
* GPhC registration required.

* Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Additional Information for Candidates
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, but a corresponding increase in the hourly rate will ensure pay is not affected.
