Year 2 Teacher (Mon-Thurs) - Sunderland We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and helping pupils reach their full potential in Key Stage 1. The role is part-time, working Monday to Thursday. As a Year 2 Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and well-structured lessons, supporting pupils as they develop core skills in literacy and numeracy, and preparing them for the transition into Key Stage 2. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons as a Year 2 Teacher, in line with the national curriculum. Support pupils’ development in reading, writing, and mathematics, building confidence and independence. Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data to inform planning and targeted support. Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and engagement. Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to support academic and personal development. Prepare pupils for end of Key Stage 1 expectations and assessments. Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential. Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2. Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment expectations. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. The ability to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
