Overview
As an engineer, you’ll respond to emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of EON, ensuring customers’ Smart Meters are working correctly. You’ll complete the installation and removal of SMETS2 meters in customers’ homes, typically completing around 5 jobs per day. You’ll travel around your area using a tablet to view your schedule, with access to up to two weeks in advance. Continuous training will be provided to maintain and develop your skills. You’ll be part of a team with weekly catch-ups and accessible field management support. Health and safety are at the heart of everything you do, and you’ll be prepared to be an ambassador for health and safety throughout onboarding and beyond.
Responsibilities
* Respond to emergency and maintenance appointments for Smart Metering (SMETS2).
* Install and remove smart meters in customers’ homes and explain benefits and safe usage.
* Ensure all jobs are completed on time and that customers understand their meter features.
* Meet customers and provide courteous, customer-focused service in every interaction.
* Utilise a tablet to manage daily schedules and travel within your area.
* Attend ongoing training and development opportunities.
* Participate in weekly meetings and seek support from field managers when needed.
What you’ll bring (Essential)
* Valid UK driving licence (held for at least 1 year) and less than 6 points.
* CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel; experience installing gas and electric smart meters is desirable.
* Experience with MOCOPA at a multi-rate level is preferred.
Desirable / Additional qualifications
* REGT1, 3 phase qualifications (bonus).
* Registered on the EUSR portal (preferred).
