Job Overview
Exciting Leadership Opportunity to be a Speech & Language Therapist Team Leader. Band 7, Speech and Language Therapist Team Leader within the Additional Needs Team supporting services across Wrexham and Flintshire, 3 days a week (0.6 WTE).
In this dynamic leadership role, you will manage a highly specialist clinical caseload within the Additional Needs Service while helping to shape and develop the service to meet evolving population needs. You will provide day‑to‑day operational support and take full responsibility for line management, including staff supervision, professional development and fostering a positive team culture. You will also contribute to recruitment processes to build and maintain a skilled workforce.
Main Duties
* Provide direct line management to a team of Speech and Language Therapists in the Paediatric ALN service.
* Collaborate closely with the Head and Deputy Head of Service and wider colleagues to ensure equitable, high‑quality service provision.
* Use coaching and facilitative leadership skills to support and empower the team to deliver high‑quality clinical services and explore innovative, flexible approaches.
* Work alongside other SLT leaders to align operational priorities and clinical development.
* Participate in a supportive SLT Leadership and Management group, accessing comprehensive training, supervision and leadership development.
* Continue to work as a Highly Specialist SLT, contributing advanced clinical expertise to support children and families.

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* Recognised qualification degree or equivalent in Speech & Language Therapy.
* HCPC registered.
* Post‑graduate study relevant to clinical area at Masters level or equivalent demonstrable experience at this level.
* Able to demonstrate continuing professional development (e.g., up‑to‑date CPD portfolio).
* Clinical supervisory skills training.
Desirable Criteria
* Membership of an appropriate clinical network group.
* Other professional or academic qualification related to clinical practice.
* Accredited Practice Placement Educator Certificate.
Experience
Essential Criteria
* Significant clinical experience in area of specialism.
* Experience of clinical leadership.
* Delegation to qualified and non‑registered staff.
* Experience delivering clinical education in area of specialty.
* Evidence of teaching within post.
* Significant experience leading multidisciplinary / multiprofessional teams.
* Involvement in clinical audit.
* Evidence of attendance on specialist short courses and advanced training in relation to clinical specialty.
Desirable Criteria

* Welsh / English therapy provision.
* Experience of lecturing externally.
