As a department, Economics offers a range of pathways to suit all students, and as such is one of the most popular option subjects at KS5. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Economics department, will have an in‑depth understanding of successful Economics pedagogy and will have achieved highly successful outcomes in their subject area. We currently offer A Level Economics. Student outcomes are continuously improving, and many of our students go on to study Economics or Finance‑related degrees at some of the top universities in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the Economics department with strategic and operational focus
* Deliver high‑quality teaching and curriculum planning for A Level Economics and any additional subjects to be offered
* Apply Rosenshine principles of instruction and other evidence‑based pedagogies to maximise student learning
* Coordinate enrichment activities such as a Young Enterprise group and liaise with external agencies and visiting speakers
* Motivate, inspire and challenge all students, ensuring each can succeed regardless of starting points
* Collaborate with fellow teachers, support CPD and staff development activities
* Support the Catholic ethos and contribute to the core values of the College
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge and excellent capability in teaching Economics (experience at KS4/KS5/A Level preferred)
* Ability to teach an additional subject at the same level
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a team‑player attitude
* Commitment to curriculum design and instruction using evidence‑based frameworks
* Passion and energy to engage and inspire learners
* Understanding of the Catholic ethos and the ability to uphold the College’s values
