Position: Logistics Manager
(Automotive Manufacturing)
Role Overview:
As Logistics Manager, you will lead the supply chain function at our Northampton plant, ensuring operational excellence across Safety, Environmental, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SE,Q,C,D) objectives. You will drive continuous improvement, team development, and process optimization to support plant KPIs and customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high standards and sustainable performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the logistics team, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance with HS&E regulations and internal procedures.
* Manage inventory accuracy, stock levels, and material flow using SAP tools.
* Optimize delivery performance and supply chain processes from customer schedules to finished goods dispatch.
* Monitor and reduce supply chain-related costs, including transport, waste, and consumables.
* Lead production planning and support functions to resolve operational concerns.
* Drive visual management, lean tools, and problem-solving methodologies across the department.
* Maintain strong communication and team engagement through regular meetings and performance reviews.
Profile:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in automotive supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
* At least 3 years in a Supply Chain/Logistics Manager role.
* Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics processes and SAP systems.
* Proven leadership in team development, conflict resolution, and performance management.
* Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
* Effective communicator with the ability to influence across all levels.
