Senior Product Manager - Edge Compute Platforms
We’re looking for an experienced product manager to lead the edge compute platform strategy, including hypervisors, control planes, observability, and server build & deployment automation/orchestration across Tesco Technology’s infrastructure.
About the role
The edge Infrastructure Product & Engineering team designs, develops and operates all infrastructure used by Tesco Technology across our offices, stores and distribution centres. This includes connectivity, end‑user computing, CI/CD, observability, both 3rd‑party and internally developed applications.
You will be responsible for
* Driving the product vision, strategy and long‑term roadmap.
* Partnering with peers and senior stakeholders to set the product direction within the wider business strategy.
* Understanding user personas, customers and stakeholders and their pain points.
* Owning performance/adoption and achieving OKRs.
* Prioritising work and resolving trade‑offs with peers and senior leaders.
* Documenting and explaining new requirements to engineering using user stories and acceptance criteria.
* Steering sprint/release planning to deliver maximum business value with minimal effort.
* Driving acceptance and adoption of ideas and improvements across teams.
* Coordinating and communicating resolution of live product issues independently.
* Providing leadership and direction to cross‑functional teams on short‑term tasks and near‑term priorities.
* Acting as a subject‑matter expert, leveraging past delivery experience to deliver value to customers.
You will need
* Understanding of distributed edge environments and associated challenges.
* Experience delivering virtualisation platforms such as VMware and Proxmox for consumer and business needs.
* Skills in building automation and orchestration for software & hardware deployment in distributed environments.
* Active engagement in market research, using insights to shape product vision and strategy aligned with business, tech goals and customer expectations.
* Proficiency in applying various data types (quantitative/qualitative) to prioritise decisions.
* Ability to coach colleagues across disciplines to adopt a product mindset.
