As one of the world's largest networks of audit, tax and consulting firms, RSM delivers big ideas and premium service to help middle-market businesses thrive. We are a fast-growing firm with big ambitions -- we have a clear goal to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. This vision motivates us to improve continuously. If you are looking for a firm where you can build a future and make an impact, RSM is the place for you.
Our Customs specialists work closely with colleagues across the firm to provide a joined-up service to a diverse range of clients, from middle market businesses to large corporations, combining expertise in accounting, audit and all relevant taxes. As a national Customs practice and part of the VAT service line, we offer a balance between sector specialization and general advisory, with opportunities to develop new areas of focus. As a fast-growing faculty, there are significant opportunities for client development and a strong emphasis on advisory work.
As an Assistant Manager in one of our national offices, you will undertake detailed planning and implementation of Customs client work, ensuring effective and cost-efficient service aligned with budgets. You will supervise junior team members and collaborate closely with Managers and Partners, preparing advice and managing client relationships to meet service, quality, and cost expectations, as well as the firm’s targets.
You’ll make an impact by:
* Identifying and advising on Customs planning opportunities and specialist technical assignments.
* Being a point of contact for Customs queries and maintaining excellent client service.
* Working with senior colleagues to identify, interview, and convert prospective clients, and assisting in research and proposals for new work.
* Developing advanced technical knowledge through reading and courses, and staying aware of the firm’s services.
* Continuously improving your skills and knowledge, coaching junior team members, and embracing personal development.
What we are looking for:
Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can spot inefficiencies and are passionate about improvements, this role is for you! We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Our ideal candidate:
* Has proven experience in client handling and project management.
* Has proven tax experience producing high-quality work within budget.
* Is educated to degree standard, with at least three years’ experience in Customs or a related field.
What we can offer you:
We recognize that our people are our most valuable assets. We offer a flexible rewards and benefits package to support your fulfillment both professionally and personally, including:
* ACA study support
* Hybrid and flexible working options
* 26 days holiday (with options to purchase additional days)
* Health, wellbeing, and financial benefits, including financial tools, electric car scheme, and virtual GP access
* Access to over 300 courses on demand, developed by our talent development team
Diversity and Inclusion at RSM
