Role details
Prison Healthcare is seeking motivated and forward thinking GPs to work flexibly across the three prisons in Tayside; HMP Perth, HMP Castle Huntly (National Open Estate) and the new HMP Bella & YOI Female Community Custody Unit. The service strives to offer family friendly working conditions and sessions.
By joining Prison Healthcare Service you will be joining a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of staff who is committed to delivering safe, effective person centred care equitable to that of the local community. Our MDT consists of; Specialist Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician Team, Primary Care Nursing Team, Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioners, ANP’s, Occupational Therapy Team, Physiotherapist, Clinical Psychologists, Mental Health Nursing Team, Substance Misuse Recovery Team, Health Promotion Advisor and visiting specialties including Dentists, Podiatrist, Optician, Blood Borne Virus Nurse and Consultant Psychiatrists, all supported by a dedicated and very friendly Administration Team.
We believe that a stance of pro-active engagement is required to ensure that people are enabled to achieve maximum levels of mental and physical well being, social inclusion and participation, to support us in this venture we work in close collaboration with Scottish Prison Service.
You must be registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practice. Participation in audit and teaching of GP, Medical Staff in Training & Trainee Advance Practitioners is expected.
Clinical Lead sessions are available for a successful applicant(s) to drive forward service improvements.
Hours of Work/Sessions Available: Monday – Friday & Saturday (Morning only)
Base: Health Centre, HMP Perth with the ability to travel across other sites as required
