Join supportive and welcoming secondary schools across Leeds and Wakefield, teaching students aged 11–18 and inspiring the next generation of scientists. These opportunities are ideal for ECTs and experienced teachers seeking long-term placements with the potential to become permanent roles.
What you’ll do:
1. Deliver engaging and inspiring Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
2. Teach general science and, where applicable, your subject specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
3. Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum.
4. Support students to develop scientific knowledge, practical skills, and confidence in the subject.
5. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and achievement.
6. Work collaboratively with department staff to support student progress and attainment.
Who we’re looking for:
7. Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
8. ECTs and experienced Science Teachers welcome to apply.
9. Specialists in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or confident General Science Teachers.
10. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
11. Passionate educators committed to helping young people achieve their full potential.
What this role offers:
Pay:
12. ECTs / Early Career Teachers: £168.80 – £178.58 per day
13. Main Pay Scale (M1–M6): £168.80 – £232.58 per day
14. Upper Pay Scale (UPS): £243.45 – £261.79 per day
Pay rates dependent on experience, qualifications, and assignment responsibilities.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 3:30 pm

17. Opportunity to teach in supportive and well-established secondary schools.
18. Potential for permanent teaching opportunities within partner schools.
