This position will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the strategy development and execution of UK & I Casualty and Med Mal Claims management within Everest Insurance International across our Syndicate and Company Platforms.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that the Casualty and Med Mal Claims Strategy and Operating Models are fully aligned with business needs, plans and priorities, partnering with underwriting leadership
1. Identify, analyze, and communicate product line claims issues and trends including cost and frequency to executive and underwriting leadership
2. Ensure that appropriate outsourced service providers, lawyers and other experts are in place to support the effective management of Casualty and Med Mal claims
3. Provide insightful strategic analysis of data identifying trends and issues, reporting to underwriting and claims executive leadership to support improved portfolio profitability and growth
4. Work closely with Country and Regional management to create business plans and targets and monitor execution
5. Provide support to product development and profitability
6. Partner with underwriters and executives to support the acquisition and retention of profitable business
7. Develop strong relationships with key customers and brokers
8. Enhance Everest’s brand and reputation in the Casualty and Med Mal Market
9. Define and execute the Customer Experience for Casualty and Med Mal customers to deliver service excellence aligned to Everest strategies
10. Support and oversee the creation and execution of action plans to improve performance
11. Engagement in reserve and portfolio reviews
Operational
12. Provide all necessary technical handling and strategic oversight and support, particularly in the management of large and complex losses and issues
13. Ensure that effective claims data and performance measurements are in place and continuously monitored and developed
14. Identify performance and compliance issues, ensuring that these are reported and escalated in line with corporate requirements
15. Ensure claims operational activities meet with organizational requirements for quality management, internal and external audits, compliance, and privacy policies and procedures
16. Ensure appropriate Controls are in place and effectively manage financial, reputational, operational and compliance risk to Everest
17. Ensure the creation, production and communication of relevant, timely and accurate data/analytics and reporting
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
18. A thorough knowledge of UK & I and International Casualty and Med Mal insurance products, markets, claims practices and operations
19. Experience with a global insurance company
20. At least ten years experience of Casualty and Med Mal claims management across varied product lines and distribution channels
21. Commercially focused with a sound understanding of business models, product and distribution strategies
22. Data and technology literate with strong analytical skills
23. Proven effective leadership and people management skills and excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
24. Financially astute; strong decision-making and prioritization skills
25. The ability to create and execute strategy in a complex, fast paced, matrix environment
26. Demonstrated ability to set and meet challenging objectives derived from and in support of strategic goals
Skills & Abilities
27. Extensive knowledge of leading and managing Casualty and Med Mal Claims
28. Deep knowledge of Claims processes and organizations; will preferably have a long term background in claim management
29. Strategic thinker, innovative and solution-oriented
30. Exceptional oral and written communication, with the ability to provide concise executive summaries to senior management
31. Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organisation as well as with external stakeholders
