Learning Support Practitioner - Stafford, Cannock - Start Date: 13/04/2026
We are currently looking for an experienced Learning Support Practitioner to join our partner schools located in and around the South Staffordshire region (Stafford, Stone and Cannock) on both short and long term roles. You will be working on a temporary basis, through a highly reputable supply agency.
Your role as a Learning Support Practitioner is supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis; assisting in implementing individual learning plans whilst maintaining and encouraging independence and confidence. You will work closely with teaching professionals to promote inclusion, engagement and academic progress.
Responsibilities
* Working for a reputable education agency - Academics Ltd.
* Supporting pupils across a range of Key Stages on a 1:1 or small group basis as a Learning Support Practitioner.
* A responsibility to monitor and report on pupil progress to teaching staff and external professionals.
* The ability to manage behaviour in a calm, approachable manner. This should be done through positive behaviour strategies which encourage and reward positive behaviour.
* Commute to Stafford and Stone on a daily basis.
* Working collaboratively with staff and parents is essential.
* Flexibility to adapt quickly to different school settings and a range of pupils on a temporary basis, this is crucial.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Strong experience supporting learners with additional needs. You must be confident in working alongside children on a 1:1 basis.
* A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent).
* A good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
* Previous experience of working with children in a primary/educational setting in the UK.
* Strong levels of communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent behaviour management skills with the ability to support learners in the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2.
* A current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).
* Able to commute to Stafford/Stone and surrounding areas daily.
* Fully registered to work with Academics.
Pay: £93 - £100 a day (dependent upon experience). Holiday pay is included on day rate.
