£Competitive + Bonus | 4 on / 4 off | Days We are recruiting for an experienced Duty Manager to join a high-profile fleet maintenance operation at Heathrow Airport. This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone from a mechanical, fleet, or workshop background who is confident managing teams in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment. The Role Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of maintenance operations across airside and landside, ensuring performance, safety, and service delivery targets are consistently met. Key responsibilities:
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team within a busy operational environment
* Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained in line with planned schedules
* Drive productivity, efficiency, and service performance
* Manage workshop loading, resource allocation, and prioritisation of work
* Ensure compliance with health & safety and operational standards
* Build effective relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
* Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
* Ensure all work orders and documentation are completed accurately (SAP)
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a management or supervisory role
* Background in mechanical, fleet, or workshop environments
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
* Good organisational and problem‑solving skills
Desirable
* IOSH / NEBOSH
* Experience with SAP or similar systems
* Knowledge of heavy vehicles, fleet maintenance, or aviation support equipment
