This is a General Manager role with a small third-generation, private business that sells capital equipment and associated materials. You will have full autonomy to run the business and will report to the family directors and shareholders, who have no day-to-day involvement, but retain strategic oversight. You will lead the management team who are responsible for the day-to-day commercial, operational, and financial performance of the business. The Job Full commercial accountability for the business: revenue, gross margin, customer strategy, and supplier relationships Leadership and day-to-day management of the team across sales, operations, and administration Active stewardship of the companys principal supplier relationships Management and deepening of key customer accounts, including clients with long-standing purchasing relationships Delivery of monthly management accounts and Board reports to the director shareholders within agreed timelines Design and implementation of documented operational processes and procedures; reducing key-person dependency and building institutional resilience Driving commercial growth: formalising consumables supply contracts, developing post- warranty service offerings, and selectively extending the customer base Constructive engagement with a family business governance model, including annual budget preparation, capex authority within agreed limits, and bi-annual strategic reviews with the Directors and Shareholders The Person The ideal candidate is a commercially driven, people-oriented professional with a demonstrable track record of leading operations in a small to medium B2B environment. Candidates with a background in distribution, technical equipment supply, manufacturing, industrial services, or adjacent commercial sectors will be considered.
