Role: Plant Operational Excellence Leader

Our client, a leading internationalmanufacturer, is currently recruiting for an experienced PlantOperational Excellence Leader to join their site close to Maidstoneat a time of huge growth for the business.
Asthe Plant Operational Excellence Leader you will be the champion,support and lead implementation of Operation Excellence, ContinuousImprovement and problem-solving initiatives within their Maidstonesite. You will be an essential element of the site's ContinuousImprovement programme.
As the PlantOperational Leader, you will have the autonomy to operate acrossall functions and at all levels in the business to implementOperational Excellence requirements, tools and techniques, and willbe able to implement Operational Excellence activities withoutconflict with everyday operationalduties.
Duties include:
- Be thelink with the cluster Operational Excellence Manager and the firstpoint of contact for Operational Excellence support, advice andtraining in their representative site.
- To implement thelocal, country and cluster-level operational excellence strategy inline with the expectations of the Mill Manager, UK OperationalExcellence Manager and Group Operational ExcellenceDirector.
- To partner with the site leadership team toachieve controllable waste improvement and reduce raw material(paper, starch) and energy (steam) use.
- To act as achange agent for leading and managing continuous improvementprocesses on site whilst promoting a culture ofaccountability.
- To lead and support the digitalisationstrategy (using systems and technology to streamlineprocesses).
- To identify opportunities for improvementat the local level
- Have the tenacity to challenge the'Status Quo'
- Be able to engage with team members todrive and inspire change.
- To support the 5S programwithin the site using training and auditing ofprocesses.
- To educate all employees in the CI / Leantools & techniques and ensure there is a continuing program tomaintain and develop knowledge, awareness andcommitment.
What we are lookingfor:
- Degree or Qualification within an Engineeringdiscipline is ideal.
- Lean Manufacturing training andlean manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Computerliterate in Office tools.
- Experience in a similarposition and role.
- Ability to Lead teams andWorkshops.
