We are looking for a Science Teacher to join a high-achieving department in a premier Hampshire independent school. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September. The school is seeking a specialist who can deliver engaging Science lessons at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach a subject specialism at A-Level for a qualified candidate.

The Opportunity

* Role: Science Teacher (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

* Start Date: September

* Location: Hampshire

* Salary: Competitive Independent Scale + potential TLR for departmental responsibilities

* Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

School Information

Set within extensive grounds in the Hampshire countryside, this school is recognized for its academic ambition and its commitment to the holistic development of its pupils.

* Highly Supportive Leadership: You will join a faculty where the leadership team is utterly committed to staff development. They offer personalized support and a culture of professional learning, ensuring teachers have the resources and autonomy to teach effectively.

* Work-Life Balance: The school is dedicated to cultivating a culture of openness and honesty, prioritizing a manageable teaching load and a positive environment for all staff.

* Exceptional Facilities: You will benefit from university-standard laboratories and a dedicated team of technicians who handle the preparation and maintenance of all practical equipment.

The Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a teacher who treats the laboratory as a space for discovery and helps students master complex theoretical concepts through hands-on learning.

* Teaching & Learning: Deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and GCSE. You will be responsible for fostering a love for scientific inquiry and helping students achieve high-tier results.

* Practical Mastery: Lead students through sophisticated experimental procedures, emphasizing precision, data analysis, and the safe handling of specialized equipment.

* Small Class Sizes: Benefit from small teaching groups (typically 12–15 students), allowing for the personalized feedback and "stretch and challenge" required for top-tier academic success.

* STEM Enrichment: Support extracurricular initiatives such as Science societies, the Physics Olympiad, or environmental research projects.

Experience and Qualifications

The school welcomes applications from experienced Science Teachers and high-calibre ECTs who have a strong academic background.

* Degree: A related degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related Science discipline.

* Qualified Status: QTS or PGCE (relevant experience within the independent sector is also highly valued).

* Subject Knowledge: A deep passion for your subject and the ability to inspire students through both theory and practical application.

* Standards: A proven track record (or clear potential) for securing exceptional results in public examinations.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is paid on the school’s own Competitive Independent Scale, which often exceeds the national main pay range.

* Personalized induction and continuous professional development.

* Access to a supportive professional network across the school and wider trust.

* A manageable timetable with significant protected time for planning and practical preparation.
