Overview
Escape Procurement & Supply Chain are working exclusively with an established manufacturer who is looking to appoint a Buyer to join their Purchasing & Materials team.
It is an exciting time to join the business as they are investing in a brand-new production area to increase capacity, with a strong order book already secured for the next 12 months and beyond.
The Buyer will play a key part in ensuring materials are sourced, suppliers are managed and production is fully supported.
Responsibilities
* Managing and reviewing MRP to plan material purchasing in line with production requirements
* Negotiating prices and delivery schedules with suppliers
* Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships across the UK and Europe
* Driving supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality and OTIF
* Maintaining optimal inventory levels to support production
* Collaborating with colleagues in engineering, production planning, and finance
What we looking for
* Experience in a similar Purchasing/Buyer role within a manufacturing environment
* Strong background in raw material purchasing and materials management
* Confident using MRP systems
* Proven supplier management and negotiation skills
* Track record of delivering cost savings and added value through supplier negotiations
* A collaborative team player with strong self-motivation and work ethic
