Role Overview:
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you'll lead on multiple strategic programmes as the Direct to Consumer (D2C) continues to evolve. The Commercial Development team is responsible for forecasting and budgeting, defining new business models, optimising pricing, and driving our growth strategy. The role spans all areas of D2C, including the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct.
This is a role that establishes relationships and supports the implementation of change across a variety of teams across PlayStation with a focus on D2C, Product & Engineering groups, Marketing, and the Services team.
What you'll be doing:
Define and Execute Winning Pricing Strategies
1. Bring expertise to the forefront by implementing pricing methodologies that reflect the true worth of our products and services and pricing elasticity
2. Deploy data analytics and economic experience to design and execute pricing strategies that keep the Direct to Consumer pricing in a competitive position
3. Collaborate with diverse teams to understand market trends, customer behaviour, and align pricing decisions with business goals
4. Work closely with technical teams to build and fine-tune pricing algorithms, ensuring they align seamlessly with business objectives
5. Use statistical modelling and machine learning to create predictive pricing models that adapt swiftly to market dynamics using a variety of internal and external data sources
6. Conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses, shaping pricing decisions to maximize overall value for the company
Player and Publisher Satisfaction
7. Dive deep into customer feedback and engagement metrics to gauge the impact of pricing changes on player satisfaction at a global and regional level
8. Collaborate closely with publishers, understanding their goals, and ensuring our pricing strategy aligns with their expectations
Collaborate Across Teams
9. Engage proactively with product & engineering managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to ensure our pricing strategies align with overarching business objectives
10. Work closely with finance teams to ensure our pricing models are not both strategic and financially sound
11. Understand and help the continued build of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) models and use across the business
What we're looking for:
12. Proven track record in value based and dynamic pricing strategies, data analytics, and economic modelling
13. Deep understanding of economic theory and its practical application in pricing decisions
14. Experience in creating and implementing price recommendation algorithms
15. Excellent commercial and financial acumen with experience in revenue growth
16. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a drive for result
17. Strong understanding of both digital media distribution and eCommerce
18. Strong interpersonal and time leadership skills and the ability to coach and up skill team members.
