About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor on a project based in Billericay. The role will involve setting out for reinforced concrete (RC) structures, drainage, and general groundworks. You will be responsible for ensuring all works are delivered accurately and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for RC structures, foundations, drainage, and general civils works
*
Working closely with site management and subcontractors to maintain accuracy and progress
*
Preparing and reviewing ITPs (Inspection Test Plans) and RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
*
Conducting quality checks and maintaining detailed site records
*
Ensuring compliance with project drawings and specifications
*
Liaising with engineers, surveyors, and site supervisors
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on RC frame or groundworks projects
*
Competent with GPS, total stations, and AutoCAD
*
Strong understanding of civils processes, tolerances, and quality assurance
*
Ability to produce and review ITPs and RAMS
*
CSCS Card essential
*
SSSTS / SMSTS (preferred)
*
Right to work in the UK
Contract Details:
*
6-month contract (potential for extension)
*
CIS or LTD company payment options available
*
Rate: £270–£350 per day
