Description and requirements

We are currently looking for an Assistant Bid Manager to work in our Building Operating Unit, to support and coordinate multi-disciplinary bid teams through all stages of the process, from pre- to post-tender. You will drive both qualitative and commercial excellence with a strong customer focus, ensuring compliance with Skanska procedures, values, and brand, also champion governance, share best practices, and promote continuous improvement across our operating units.
As the Assistant Bid Manager, you will:
1. Own day-to-day bid delivery. Coordinate estimating, planning, submissions and internal/external experts to produce complete, high-quality bids on time and within budget.
2. Shape bid strategy by understanding client needs and market competition, delivering innovative, value-driven solutions that clearly highlight Skanska’s unique benefits and differences.
3. Empower and support the bid team to succeed, ensuring everyone understands, can articulate, and can execute the win strategy.
4. Maintain precise resource records to track and compare against the bid budget.
5. Ensure compliance with the Skanska Tender Approval Process (STAP); prepare Pre-ORA/ORA documentation, secure operational sign-off, and produce briefing papers for the appropriate review levels.

6. Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to build lasting relationships and networks.
7. Proven experience in tendering, submissions, and approvals, working under pressure to deliver results.
8. Keen interest in digital innovation, with a basic understanding of construction processes.
